Historic E.M. Cotter Fireboat Rides

Take a cruise aboard a National Historic Landmark – Buffalo’s own E.M. Cotter Fireboat! Rides will take place on Friday at 6pm and on Saturday leaving at 4pm and then at 6pm. Space is extremely limited. No children under the age of 12 are allowed on the boat and access to the boat is difficult for those with limited mobility. You must preregistration at Valley office, please call 716-823-4707 ext. 3 to reserve your spot. Donations are gladly accepted.
Built and commissioned during an era when Buffalo’s waterfront and port were booming, the Cotter has been an invaluable asset of fire protection for the numerous warehouses, grain elevators and other facilities that line Buffalo’s shores. In 1996, the Edward M. Cotter was designated a National Historic Landmark. As the world’s oldest working fireboat, she has borne three names, survived a devastating explosion and, as she proudly begins her second century of service.

Proceeds from the Buffalo River Fest will benefit Buffalo River Fest Park including capital maintenance, utilities, insurance, dock maintenance, and grounds maintenance.
