Old First Ward historian Gene Overdorf will be presenting at The Tewksbury Lodge at 249 Ohio Street, Buffalo, NY 14204 on Sunday, March 3rd at 2pm. Overdorf will be sharing his wealth of knowledge on the history of the Old First Ward during a presentation on the “Irish First Ward, Its People and Places”.

About the Event:

Born in the Old First Ward on Mackinaw Street, Overdorf attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Bishop Timon High School, and SUNY at Brockport.  It has been his passion to research and document the history of the Old First Ward for the past forty years.  Most importantly, Overdorf had the opportunity to interview many of the neighborhood old timers throughout the years, gaining first-hand accounts of the “way it was”. Gene’s topics and video presentation will include not only the history of the Old First Ward but the people and places that left a mark on it.

Admission is $10 per person.  Reservations are not required but highly encouraged.  The Tewksbury Lodge kitchen will be serving food and drinks throughout the event as well.
